The present study investigated a chemical gas-phase process capable of reducing nitric oxides in diesel engine exhaust. In this process, monomethylamine (CH3NH2) was added to the exhaust gas and the chemical reactions of NO decomposition took place in the exhaust gas. In the present experiment, the effect of coexisting constituents in the diesel exhaust on NO decomposition was examined. Results show that the coexisting gases in the exhaust have no adverse effects on NO removal by methylamine, whereas particulate matter, such as soot, inhabit NO removal. However, 70% of NOx removal was achieved even for exhaust containing particulate matter at the space velocity of approximately 6000 −1, at which actual selective catalytic reduction systems are operated.
A coulometric-amperometric procedure was developed for the determination of the normality of α-chymotrypsin solutions. The procedure utilizes the specific inactivator, N,N-diphenylcarbamyl chloride as the titrant. Its reaction with active Brand Women Nike Air Presto Charcoal Grey Blue chymotrypsin releases one equivalent of chloride ion for every equivalent of enzyme inactivated. The chloride ion concentration, which, therefore, is equivalent to the concentration of active enzyme, is measured by a coulometric-amperometric procedure.
